Intern – Purchasing/Planning 


This is a full time opportunity for a Purchasing/Planning intern who is ready to gain working knowledge of purchasing and planning principle in a manufacturing environment. The self-motivated intern will assist with a wide range of duties, including but not limited to, placing raw material purchase orders with suppliers, expediting deliveries, and supplier maintenance and sourcing. This is an exciting opportunity for any student pursuing a career in supply chain management. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Place purchase orders for raw materials needed to support the production plan. 
  • Expedite and reschedule supplier deliveries based on new output from the ERP system.
  • Coordinate the supplier return of non-conforming raw material.
  • Edit and revise planning parameters in the ERP system.
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of supplier performance score cards.
  • Prepare reports written reports as required.

 

What You’ll Need: 

  • Prospective candidates should currently be seeking a degree in supply chain management or related field of study.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who works well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive manufacturing environment.
  • Effective computer, verbal communication and written/report writing skills
  • Basic understanding of ERP Systems.
  • Good analytical skills 
  • Deadline oriented and the ability to complete tasks independently
