ONM Mercy Internship
The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod - Office of National Mission
Reporting Relationships
- This position reports to the Managing Director, Mercy.
- Director will provide structure and feedback about the work so that the intern may grow in skills and church work competency.
Essential Job Functions
- To increase knowledge of the Synod’s mercy work and learn skills for future church work.
- Assist with Mercy department events.
- Resource development and production with Life, Health, Family, Specialized Care, Grant Administration, Worker Wellness program ministries utilizing input from contributing authors and experts.
- Shadow the ministry leaders in ONM Mercy departments.
- Teach the faith through assisting with presentations, authoring articles and other written works.
- Other responsibilities in Office of National Mission program ministries as assigned.
- Spiritual care and visitation coordinated with partner organizations.
Education and Experience
- Enrolled in an LCMS seminary or CUS church work training program.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Strong, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency, or willingness to learn technology solutions and software platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
