INTERNAL ONLY POSITION - The Projects and Training Director will provide direction, oversight, and management of LED FastStart workforce training projects across the state of Louisiana, reporting to Senior Director of Project Operations and Talent Management.
LED FastStart, Louisiana Economic Development’s single-source, workforce solutions provider is building a world-class team to support Louisiana’s workforce for new and expanding companies. Our primary focus is to assist companies in selection and training. We work with each company and develop and deliver customized training programs for their processes. We are in partnership with the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) and Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC). Our curriculum is delivered during pre and post employment and enables the company to launch a new operation or to expand an existing operation. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Projects and Training Director, LED FastStart include, but are not limited to, the following:

LED FastStart Projects: As assigned by the Sr. Director of Project Operations and Talent Management, provide direction and oversight of the management of LED FastStart client projects from announcement to closure. Provide management, planning, mentoring, and training of LED FastStart project management staff.

LED FastStart Training: Provide leadership, oversight, direction, and direct management of LED FastStart training to include planning, resourcing, evaluation, competitiveness, and process improvement of the LED FastStart program. Continuously evaluate and improve the LED FastStart project management process. As needed, serve as an additional interface between LED FastStart and other LED, LCTCS, LWC, and Regents System departments and functions.

LED FastStart Marketing: As needed by the Sr. Director of Project Operations and Talent Management, conduct on-site or remote LED FastStart marketing presentations to prospects, site selectors, and consultants.

LED FastStart Program Administration: Maintains and provides reporting of LED FastStart performance metrics and KPIs. Develops, maintains, and reports on departmental goals. Ensures overall program compliance with state administration rules and regulations, as required.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources Development, Instructional Design, Adult Education or a related field.

Required Experience: 
* Ten or more total years of experience in training responsibilities to include leadership of training functions and direct management of training programs.

* Five or more total years of experience in managing industry workforce development programs or contract training.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of basic project management principles
• Knowledge of instructional design
• Knowledge of training methodologies
• Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to plan and manage multiple deliverables within multiple projects
• Ability to manage staff
• Ability to analyze complex technical data and formulate logical and objective solutions
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and interact with persons of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
• Ability to effectively delegate tasks
• Ability to receive, comprehend and respond to communication from a variety of sources and media.
• Visual acuity (color and depth perception) to view material on computer and for extensive reading and other work related tasks
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs and work in small spaces such as office cubicles
• Ability to move between workstation and other areas in the office
• Ability to remain seated for at least 6 hours a day. Stationary/sedentary position.
• Ability to move and lift objects e.g. chairs, office supplies, reams of paper, bound documents etc weighing up to 20 pounds
• Ability to operate office equipment including computers, and photocopying machine
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel to/from client sites.
• Ability to travel interstate and internationally via commercial aircraft

Required Licenses or Certifications: 
• A valid Louisiana Driver’s License
• Proof of motor vehicle insurance
• A valid US passport will be required for travel
