Intern

TOTH is seeking a Transmission Engineering Intern to join us in our Billings, MT office to strengthen our growing firm. This is a unique opportunity for highly motivated, innovative, and inspired individuals to work on challenging assignments where contribution, teamwork, and communication are vital to the success of the project. You will gain knowledge of fundamental engineering processes, construction methods and permitting to carry-out the concurrent planning, design, production, and construction of our client projects. These projects typically entail high voltage transmission line design, distribution line design and staking, communication make ready, and construction.

You will be assigned to work on actual client projects alongside a team of experienced engineers. The assignments you receive are project-oriented, meaningful to the department, allows you to take responsibility for a major task, and allows you to experience a sense of personal accomplishment and contribution.

What you'll learn:

• PLS-CADD software
• Analysis and design of transmission structures and foundations
• Developing structure performance drawings for vendor procurement
• Plan, profile, and staking sheet development
• Stringing charts and phasing diagram development
• Producing material and construction specifications
• Preparing material lists

The ideal intern is:

• Pursuing a BSCE, BSME, or BSEE from an ABET-accredited engineering program
• Planning to obtain EIT certification
• Pro-active, enthusiastic, self-starter with a good attitude, and a drive to learn
• Strong in organization and planning skills
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Able to work in a team environment including clients and colleagues at all levels
