Position Summary:

Aalberts Hydronic Flow Control is seeking an Engineering Intern to support our engineering team on key projects related to product design, process improvement, and manufacturing optimization. This hands-on role offers exposure to real-world engineering applications in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and      modifying product designs to improve manufacturability and      performance.
  • Create and update detailed      CAD models and engineering drawings (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Support engineering change      processes, including BOM creation, part number assignments, and      prototyping coordination.
  • Contribute to process      improvement projects, such as standardizing work procedures,      documenting best practices, and designing training materials.
  • Work with operators and      engineers to identify line improvement opportunities, utilizing 3D      printing, CAD prototyping, and workflow enhancements.
  • Collaborate with packaging      suppliers to finalize packaging designs for various products.
  • Assist in creating Revit      files and updating the company website to enhance accessibility and      functionality (if applicable).
  • Participate in departmental      meetings and training sessions to gain industry knowledge and      insights.
  • Maintain a detailed project      log and present a summary of key learnings and contributions at      the end of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing      a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering,      or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD      software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and      analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and      develop solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing      processes, assembly techniques, and tools.
  • Strong written and verbal      communication skills, with the ability to document and present      findings.
  • Ability to work independently      and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing      and prototyping (preferred but not required).

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • This role is based in a light      manufacturing warehouse environment with periodic exposure to hot,      humid, or cold (non-weather) conditions.
  • Must be able to walk, climb,      stoop, bend, and reach with hands/arms as needed.
  • Occasionally required to lift      up to 30 lbs.
