Engineering Intern

IMTT Saint Rose and Avondale Terminals are specialty chemical storage facilities seeking aspiring engineering/tech students to assist in the development and completion of API 2350 tank data reviews, P&ID updates, capital project completions, and maintenance project work. You will work closely with the engineering team to interpret and revise system drawings, tag system components, and assist with the daily project work of the department. You do not need to be pursuing specifically an engineering degree: all applicants pursuing degrees/certifications in related fields are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and revising P&IDs and single-line diagrams.
• Walking down systems and tagging system components.
• Weekly reporting and review of progress to the engineering team.
• Assisting the engineering team in miscellaneous engineering projects or maintenance projects.

Requirements and Qualifications

• TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT’s terminal locations. Company Reimbursed.
• Reliable transportation is needed to travel between the facilities - Mileage will be reimbursed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Planning to be or currently enrolled in a STEM college program or similar tech program (engineering, manufacturing, drafting, applied mathematics, etc.)
• Familiarity with P&IDs, single-line diagrams.

Hours of Work

• Your work week will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm constituting a 40-hour work week.
