Summary

Montgomery Investment Technology, Inc. of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, specializes in the valuation of options and derivatives securities. We deliver software applications, valuation consulting services and training seminars.  MITI is seeking a quantitative finance intern to join our team whereby classroom theory will be applied to the real world. This position is ideal for master’s level students who wish to gain practical experience in derivative valuation and financial risk management.

Job Description

Duties and activities may include some of the following topics:

• Search the web for articles on options, futures, bonds and quantitative finance
• Learn about the library of functions within FinTools® XL
• Create option analysis templates in Excel, Sheets and Python
• Analyze risk management strategies
• Search the internet for online training resources
• Mine the footnotes in financial reports filed with the SEC
• Study ASC 718 related to fair value accounting of share-based compensation
• Collect stock prices, dividends and investment data from internet sources
• Suggest and implement social marketing strategies
• Review the body of knowledge of the CFA, FRM and CAIA certification programs
• Develop content for the Quantitative Finance Lab (QFL) program
• Conduct special research projects

Requirements

• Specialized academic training and achievement
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail
• Strong written and communication skills
• Ability to make decisions, both independently and as a part of a team
