Civil/Environmental Engineering Intern

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are looking to bring on a Civil/Environmental Engineering Intern to join our Oakland, CA team during the summer of 2025. This person will assist office engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks. This is a temporary role that will be about 3 months long starting in May or June of 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on, working field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams. This is a full-time position located in Oakland, CA office location.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

• Serve in a field support role, working on technically challenging projects.
• Learn about consulting, civil engineering, and how to communicate in a professional setting.
• Complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training course where required (not all internship programs will require this training).
• Attend weekly Lunch and Learns.
• Attend weekly Internship Community Sessions.
• Complete a presentation at the end of the Summer to include, but not limited to:
• Overall internship experience, technical projects review, favorite project, biggest obstacle, etc.
• Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• Driver’s license highly preferred.
• Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 weeks preferred).
• Conduct other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software.
• Driver’s license highly preferred.

The salary range for this position in Oakland, CA is $24.00 - $27.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market. This role is eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary bonus program. This role may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus.
