Summary:
This paid internship will be roughly 3 months long. This temporary role will perform general maintenance and repair of simple, routine electromechanical diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices under the supervision of mentor. 
 
What you will do: 
Under general supervision and with training, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs simple electromechanical diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices utilizing established electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques.
 
Under supervision and with training, assists with the installation, calibration, and testing of new simple electromechanical medical electronic devices and/or systems.
 
Under supervision and with training, performs scheduled preventative maintenance on simple electromechanical medical electronic devices in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendation, applicable codes, standards, and department policy. 
 
Under supervision conducts scheduled and unscheduled electrical and functional safety inspections on simple electromechanical medical devices on which they have been trained. 
 
Provides exceptional customer service verbally and in writing when interacting with medical and clinical staff
 
With guidance and training, documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc. performed on all equipment
 
Under supervision and with training, requests and/or orders necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and contract relationships
 
The incumbent is responsible for adhering to all established departmental, organizational, state, and national standards, policies, regulations, and laws
 
Lifts, carries and/or pushes/pulls various items (bags, boxes, carts, etc.) while utilizing proper technique
 
Performs other duties as assigned
 
Education/Special Training:
High School Diploma / GED
Bachelor’s Degree – Preferably in Biomedical Engineering

Safety Requirements:
Abide and follow our Injury & Illness Prevention Program 
Ontime completion of safety trainings assignments 
Physical Requirements:
Walks for much of the workday as well as stands, sits, lifts, bends, and reaches above shoulders throughout.
Must be able to:
- lift up to 25 lbs. from floor to waist and up to 30 lbs. overhead
- lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance
Working environment may contain dust/dirt, fumes and odors
Exposed to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards as well as blood and body fluids.  As a result, protective clothing must be worn as necessary
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
